G-Shock GB-6900 with Bluetooth

October 21, 2011

Announced earlier this year, the GB-6900 with Bluetooth ® V4.0 is now confirmed and will be available in Japan for December. Modelled after the popular DW-6900 design, the watch will include a whole set of technological features including connectivity to your smartphone for calls, sms and emails notifications. It will also automically set and correct the time to correspond with your phone settings as well as vibrating and lighting features. New physical features include a new logo and will be available in the three colors. It’s no iphone but it’s a good step in the right direction. For $230 + i’m interested to see how well it does.

Gorillaz have released their new album ‘The Fall’ for free to the band’s fan club members. Gorillaz recorded the entire album using an Apple iPad and many of its apps like the popular one pictured above called AmpliTube also Speak It! / SoundyThingie / Mugician / Solo Synth / Synth / Funk Box / Gliss / Xenon / iElectribe / BS-16i / M3000 HD / Cleartune / iOrgel HD / Olsynth / StudioMiniXI / BassLine / Harmonizer / Dub Siren Pro / Moog Filatron

Damon Albarn described the recording of the album, which was recorded on his iPad over 32 days on the band’s North American tour this Autumn, as a welcome distraction from the monotony of touring.

“I did it because there’s a lot of time that you just spend staring at walls essentially. And it was a fantastic way of doing it,” he said. “I found working in the day, whether it’s in the hotel or in the venue, it was a brilliant way of keeping myself well.”

Apple’s next commercial should include the tag line:

“Want to be a recording artist? There’s an app for that!”

and Steve should send my check in the mail, I copyrighted that phrase right there.

PC vs Mac

Playbook vs iPad

It seems like Steve Jobs‘ aggressive competitive strategy is finally catching up to him. He had to have anticipated this sort of response  from RIM & Microsoft after he constantly ridiculed their products before the world. I guess they are finally telling the Apple head honcho that they are down to play dirty too … Check out their attempts at revenge for Jobs’ recent attacks above. Let’s see if Adobe will respond to Jobs’ assault on Flash.

G-SHOCK iPhone App

November 14, 2010

The G-SHOCK App provides users with not only the functionality of a standard G-SHOCK watch, but it also includes two games that mimic the resistance and durability of the watch.

The first game included is “G-SHOCK ATTACK”, a shock resistant game. The objective of the game is to tap on the screen to inflict as much damage as possible. The second game is “G-SHOCK DIVE”, a water resistant game. The game entails users to blow into the microphone continuously to sink their watch. What do you get in return for destroying your watches? New ones! That’s right – by beating the games, you win new G-SHOCKS, which sounds almost too good to be true.

The app is now available from the app-store and is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch, and the iPad, but requires an iPhone with an OS of 3.1.3 or higher.
