Announced earlier this year, the GB-6900 with Bluetooth ® V4.0 is now confirmed and will be available in Japan for December. Modelled after the popular DW-6900 design, the watch will include a whole set of technological features including connectivity to your smartphone for calls, sms and emails notifications. It will also automically set and correct the time to correspond with your phone settings as well as vibrating and lighting features. New physical features include a new logo and will be available in the three colors. It’s no iphone but it’s a good step in the right direction. For $230 + i’m interested to see how well it does.

It seems like Steve Jobs‘ aggressive competitive strategy is finally catching up to him. The G-SHOCK App provides users with not only the functionality of a standard G-SHOCK watch, but it also includes two games that mimic the resistance and durability of the watch.
The first game included is “G-SHOCK ATTACK”, a shock resistant game. The objective of the game is to tap on the screen to inflict as much damage as possible. The second game is “G-SHOCK DIVE”, a water resistant game. The game entails users to blow into the microphone continuously to sink their watch. What do you get in return for destroying your watches? New ones! That’s right – by beating the games, you win new G-SHOCKS, which sounds almost too good to be true.
The app is now available from the app-store and is compatible with the iPhone, iPod touch, and the iPad, but requires an iPhone with an OS of 3.1.3 or higher.
Check out RIM’s newest addition to their product line; This one’s called the Blackberry Playbook. Obviously it’s set to pose as competition for the overwhelmingly popular Apple iPad.
