Rochelle Jordan – Earth To Your Brain

August 25, 2011

In support of her debut album R O J O , Rochelle Jordan put out a teaser for her new single “Earth to Your Brain.” Directed by Yero Brown, the hazy clip complements the Toronto native’s smooth vocals and whets the appetite for her album.
The track also features Pharrell vocals, sampled from Mars the Kelis track produced by the Neptunes off her debut album Kaleidoscope.

To begin his foray into music videos, Odd Future’s talented singer-songwriter teamed up with Dave Wilson to film for an unexpected song. Instead of shooting for one of the many great tracks off of his mixtape, Frank decided to take an emotional, scenic ride into the hills behind the wheel of the excellent Acura NSX dipped in orange for “Acura Integurl,” a song he put out on his Tumblr prior to the release of “nostalgia/ultra”. Despite the several dedications that have made their way to the blogs, this is Frank’s first official video.

she singing, “bitch i’m paid, that’s all i gotta say.” i’m like who knew, who knew, who knew, that after all the years i’d make a weezy fan out of you too, you too, you too. when i met you, you were thom yorke, chris martin & u2, u2, u2. when you met me i was three6, pimp c, bun b, 8ball & mjg. but we’re both a long way from home, we got the windows down, the radio’s on..always. i wrote a letter to the sky, saying maybe one day you’ll get to kiss me, kiss me, kiss me. my girl found it in the car & said “baby why you trying to diss me, diss me, diss me.” cuz you know you’re my baby, you know you’re my baby. i’m not just in it for the ride. in it for the ride…

Because the Kids Don’t Play[Opening Night Recap]

“Because the Kids Don’t Play” is the first solo show from renowned Toronto artist Bryan Espiritu. The event took place on Friday May 13th 2011 inside the Glass Factory at 99 Sudbury. The show featured 56 mixed medium art pieces combining both digital and fine arts ranging in sizes from 1 x 1’ to 4.25 x 4.25’.

“‎‌My inspiration behind “Because the Kids Don’t Play” is the loss of innocence in society’s children. It’s the very real adult issues that children need to face when their lives are overwhelmed with physical abuse, sexual abuse, mental health and psychiatric treatment, self-worthlessness, and a lack of focus on just being kids. It’s a statement on the blind eye that parents take to the issues of their children and how self-destruction is often the result of parental ignorance.” – Bryan Espiritu

Kanye West closed out Coachella with one of the most theatrical sets ever witnessed in the festival’s history. The opening of his Coachella performance took his art and showmanship to a whole new level. Kanye started his set by singing “Dark Fantasy” as he flew over the ignited audience on a futuristic crane while a throng of modern dancers went wild on stage. He then worked his way through the crowd and made it to stage. The rap superstar went into some of his biggest hits including “Jesus Walks” and “Can’t Tell Me Nothin.” When it was time to perform “Monster,” Kanye brought out one of his collaborators, Bon Iver. The true showman ended the night in style by performing almost all of his hits including “Love Lockdown,” “Heartless” and “All of the Lights” among fireworks. Definitely an adequate way to wrap up the festival. See for yourself.
